Beyonce Supports the Miami Children's Hospital Foundation

Beyonce was inducted into the Hall of Fame for the Miami Children's Hospital Foundation for her generosity, and is a role model for others with influence.

The Miami Children's Hospital Foundation is a fantastic charity aimed at raising funds for the Hospital. There are children's hospitals in other parts of the country that would benefit from a similar foundation. The foundation provides a great forum for people to give their time and money to help children in need.

Christian Bale Supports Animal Charities

Like a lot of celebrities, Christian Bale is a huge supporter of animal charities. Star of such movies as, "American Psycho," "Velvet Goldmine," and the latest in the Batman saga, Bale is a huge catch for any charity.

Case in point, Christian Bale has been supporting animal charity Digit Fund since 2002. Digit Fund is devoted to preserving the last of the Mountain Gorillas. The charity was created in 1978 by a Doctor who named it after a Gorilla she had studied which was decapitated by poachers.

  • Digit Fund is part of the broader Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, which is dedicated to the conservation of gorillas and their habitats in Africa through anti-poaching, regular monitoring, research, education and support of local communities.

Beyonce Supports Ronald McDonald House

Beyonce Knowles, along with her bandmates in Destiny's Child,has helped to raise over $50 million dollars for children's causes. She has been very personally involved in The Ronald McDonald House Charities.

In 2005, Beyonce was a Global Ambassador for the charity, visiting Ronald McDonald Houses all over the world,to provide support and hope to terminally ill children. In addition to this, part of the proceeds from Destiny's Child ticket sales went directly to the Ronald McDonald House Charities that year.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities seek to improve the health and overall well-being of children all over the world. When a child is seriously ill or injured, Ronald McDonald House provides a place for the family to stay, and helps with treatment and recovery.

Since the first Ronald McDonald house was built in 1974, the program has grown dramatically to meet need, and there are now over 271 Ronald McDonald Houses in over 52 countries and regions all over the world.

Hugh Hefner & Jenny McCarthy Fund Autism Research

Hugh Hefner has long been known as a generous contributor to a variety of charities. He is especially fond of the Autism charity Generation Rescue, which is supported by his close friend Jenny McCarthy.



Each year, Hefner hosts the "Leather Meets Lace" event at his own Los Angeles Playboy Mansion. All the money raised goes directly to Generation Rescue to support it's cause of Autism treatment and recovery.

Jenny McCarthy found Generation Rescue through a Google search when her son was diagnosed with autism. The organization was formed to unify a large group of research scientists, doctors, and parents who are dealing with autism. Generation Rescue seeks to help parents find the funds and assistance to treat autism, and to begin the process of recovery from autism.

Jesse McCartney at Breast Cancer Awareness Event

Singer/songwriter Jesse McCartney recently attended Hurley's Art Chest, an auction of customized T-shirts and corsets designed by celebrities such as Sally Field, Denise Richards and Selena Gomez. Jesse showed his support of the event alongside celebrity friends like model Bar Rafaeli and singers Eve and Gavin de Graw.

The auction, led by surfer retailer Hurley, was held at the West Hollywood Apple Lounge and marked the second year of the event. All proceeds of the auction went to Boarding for Breast Cancer, a youth-focused education, awareness and fundraising foundation. The organization works to empower, inspire and advocate for individuals who have felt the effects of breast cancer in their lives.

Britney Spears Supports Miriam's House

Britney Spears and her father Jamie Spears were in attendance for a charity polo match at the Will Rogers Polo Club, where they cheered-on the team that Jamie had entered. While not winners in the event, the duo enjoyed a day raising money for the Promises Foundation Miriam's House.

The Promises Foundation, started by the founder of the Promises Treatment Centers, seeks to provide substance abuse prevention and recovery resources to women. Miriam's House provides these women not only a place to live, but a place to raise their children and rebuild their lives during a year of healing. Up to 15 women seeking recovery from addiction and improvement to the overall condition of their lives may be served by the home at a time.
